Watch out it's a Rant! (Why it is hard to be an Atheist)

So recently I've been super stressed out about what I am doing for High-school. Being Homeschooled, I have to find a co-op, curriculum, ect, that I want to use. I finally found an awesome co-op, well what I thought was an awesome one. We applied. And we were denied.
The reason?

OK! I am going to say it, I am NOT a Christian. Yes I am an atheist. People make that such a dirty word.

That doesn't mean I am not a good person. I genuinely love life, people, and the world around me. I respect other peoples religions, I don't criticize, overlook, or judge people of religion. Heck most of my friends are religious. The problem is, people can't treat me that way back. I thought Christianity was about treating others the way you want to be treated.... so if YOU want ME to accept your beliefs, than you should accept mine.

But... apparently that is not how it works...
I have never met a Christian that fully accepts my beliefs yet in my life. That is sad and needs to change. It's like racism, but with religion. Being a homeschooler that is an atheist, surrounded by christians and religion, I feel like a third class citizen, that no one cares about, even though I KNOW I deserve better.

SO I CHALLENGE ALL OF YOU! Whatever you believe, to just accept everyone, because it sure would help the world be a little happier, and maybe just maybe you can make someones day a little brighter.

Just be kind.

It's that easy

5 Ways to Spend a Lazy Day! ~ By Brenna

Hello! My name is Brenna from Brenna’s Bad Blog and I get the honor of guest posting on the swankiest place on the internet today! Thanks Mae :) Funny, my middle name is actually Mae.

Anyway, I’ve noticed she is a theatre person, and so am I! I’m in Aladdin right now, and the show is 1 week away. I’m only in ensemble, but I’m also younger than everyone else by 1-4 years XD

Today I’m going to give you 5 ways to spend a lazy day!
  • First off, duh, blog! It’s okay to take time off, do what you need to do, but blogging is one of my creative outlets so stopping isn’t very good for me at least.
  • Second, catching up on your reading! Whether a new book or an old favorite, it’s hard to read too much.
  • Make yourself a new playlist! Refreshing your music is something that really wakes me up. For some reason I get bored with songs really fast so shaking them up is super helpful
  • Plan to rearrange your room! Ok, I admit, when I am feeling lazy, there is no way I am going to be moving furniture around my room or make a new poster or something. But making a new Pinterest board about it sure is fun!
  • Bubble bath! For some reason, alone time soaking yourself in water is one of the most relaxing things ever. I like to use Bath and Body works products.
Lazy days are ok! Take a break when you need one. Don’t be like me and be lazy all the time because then your mom won’t buy you any more comfy clothes. -_- Like all things, do this in moderation.
Thanks again, Mae, for letting me guest post! Hopefully someday you’ll see her at my blog too.

Thanks Brenna for your awesome post!! I enjoyed reading it and I hope everyone else does too!

You know those weeks where you sit around and do nothing.

SO! I have disappeared for a while. I've had a lazy week while my sister was at camp and I've been sick as well! All week I've basically been sitting around watching dance moms and reading obscure books from the pile of free ones under my bed.

My Aunt after all the drama, being extremely embarrassed left. So that was that. But today my other Aunt is coming and should be here in about 30 minutes. My house it buzzing with energy and my mom is going crazy with her neat freak ways. (No offence to mom)

But life has been moving pretty slowly lately and I'm ready to pick it back up!

How are all of you guys?! Anything exciting happening!

Family Problems

I guess we all have that one family member that isn't very agreeable. The one that gets mad and leaves when they can't get there way. Well I know I do, and here's how I found out.

This week has been lovely up until now. My favorite Aunt came all the way from Tennessee to visit my family. She came Tuesday happy and excited, and left unexpectedly today, mad for some crazy reason. So let me map out our week a little here.

Day 1: They arrived that evening, at my nana's house. We went over for dinner to meet them, and then they came home with us, it was late so we went to bed.

Day 2. My siblings and I spent the whole day, making crafts, playing in water, and reading books to my adorable little cousin that is 3 years old.

Day 3. We spent the whole day celebrating my Nana's birthday! We all went to the Children's Museum. Then we ate out at a delicious restaurant for lunch and got desert at Deweys. Then we went home and played in the sprinkler with my cousin. We had a birthday dinner and yummy coconut cake. We gave my cousin a bath, watched a Disney movie and went to sleep!

Day 4 (today): Today we had a homeschool Field Day. So my aunt, cousin, and nana went out to spend some time together. Then they rejoined us at Field Day. After that my sister and her friend had to go shopping for camp next week, and I was going over to a friends house.

SO apparently, my aunt got mad because we weren't spending time with her..... and she got in a fight with my mom and nana while I was gone and then left without saying goodbye, while my baby cousin cried. The thing is we spent time with her all week and my mom really needed to go to the store, so it made no sense.

When I found out, I got really upset because we were going to throw a surprise baby shower for her with my other cousins who are arriving tomorrow. I miss my little cousin and I don't know how to act tomorrow if they come back.

I really want them to come back to see my cousin, but deep down a little part of me doesn't want to see my aunt for a while.

Seven Weird Facts About Me
I’m sort of having a writer’s block right now, but I’ve wanted to do a guest post on another blog forever and so I decided to this, since I randomly got this idea from random stuff.
So yeah, let’s get going!!!
1.  Horror Movies are my solace:
When you read this, you’d been thinking, “What? Get real, woman” or something along the lines of that. But what I said is true for me.  Horror movies are my solace because people in horror movies have literally nothing inside their head.
Hear a weird noise? Go check it out without any light or with just a torch. Ever heard of electricity?
Or see some suspicious movement? Go investigate without anything to defend yourself.
See movement in a supposedly haunted house? Yay! Let’s go for an adventure!
I don’t think so, people. Use your brains. I think horror movies rock since I can at least reassure myself that people stupider than me exist (I mean the movie makers, who make the characters seem like escapes from a mental hospital). And I also like them because some scares are HILARIOUS! Literally. And also because such stuff interest me, but that’s a part of the minority.
2.  I collect Humour articles from newspapers.
Weird, I know. But I love collecting all the articles from the Humour section of the newspaper as long as they are hilarious. Currently, I have 467 articles in my collection. Cool huh? (wiggles eyebrows)
3.  I hated Hunger Games.
Yeah fine. Hated is an understatement. Despised. Detested. Those are the right words for it. But soon, I wanted to know more about Katniss and Peeta. So I read Catching Fire and Mockingjay. And voila! I am a fan of Hunger Games now! (Three fingered salute)
 4.  I hate mangoes.
It’s weird but then; see the name of the post. I hate the over sweetness and the squishy-squashy texture. But nothing prevents me from drinking mango juice or eating mango ice cream with artificial flavouring! :P
 5.  I had a phobia of bird poop.
I used to have this fear that a bird would pee or poop on me when I stand outdoors. But now, I’ve overcome it. It used to be a great joke between me and my close friends ET and DJ (initials changed). It used to be scary and there was my wild imagination to help out. What if a bird peed on my lunch? What if a bird pooped on my head?
 6.  I can let a few tears slip whenever I want!
I can cry whenever I want...it’s a life skill, I’m telling you! When you are in an uncomfortable situation, crying is the best bet! Not many scoldings because people feel sorry for you... and those don’t possess this skill, try! TRY your best to learn this...if you can’t, my condolences are with you.
 7.    My Lucky Number is 7!!!
I was born at seven o’ clock on the seventh day of the seventh month!  There are seven books in my favourite series, Harry Potter. Seven is a magical number. There are seven demigods in the quest in Heroes of Olympus. My brother and I have an age difference of seven years. This is the seventh fact I’m writing. I’m becoming fourteen this year (7X2). I have seven favourite series- Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Divergent, Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Shiva Trilogy and Agatha Christie! How much more sevenish can a person get???
So those are seven weird facts about me. What do you think of them? Are there any weird facts about you? Let me know through your Comments!

And don’t forget to check out my blog: rsoundarya0707.blogspot.in (Sound’s Blog: D). Your comments, votes and follows will mean a lot to me.

And special thanks to Mae Murray for this opportunity to write a guest post on her awesome sauce blog, ‘SUPER SWANKIFIED’!!

Day Threeeeeeee of Tech!!

Last night was AWESOME! We had a costume rehearsal and all the costumes are gorgeous!!! I am starting to warm up to everyone and it's starting to be alot of fun!! The older girls have kinda started accepting me into there little group, and the little kids love me now and climb all over me!!
Me and the guy who plays Gilbert Blythe have poking wars, and The little kids decorated foam heads for wigs with makeup.. XD

Yesterday, I had to add some more stuff to my plate. I now have to help older Diana (I am saying there stage names) quick change for the tea party with Anne! I also have to help young Ruby Gillis Unbutton the back of her dress.

Yesterday at Rehearsals, when younger Anne hit young Gilbert in the head with the slate, it BROKE!! It was really funny!! It didn't hurt him or anything. The acting is really good, and some of the parts with older Anne made me have tears. This production is going really well, and our director is really happy with it!

Today is my sister's birthday! She is turning 12!! We are going to take her out to eat and to the mall! She is going to get a second piercing on her ears!

Tech Day 2!

Yesterday night was much more interesting, and fun! I will be watching the younger kids during the show, making sure they're quiet! We play alot of games so it's pretty fun! Plus they are all hilarious!! I haven't really talked to any of the girls my age yet.. they all are really good friends so it might take a couple more days to warm up to them. The good thing is my confidence has been growing, so that has been helping alot!

My director lets us wear pj's to rehearsal! So usually I wake up in the morning, do my school work, work outside, and then get a shower and go to tech. Last night I was there until 10! It is kinda eating up my whole life this week, but it gives me something to do and I just love doing anything with the theatre!

I also have another job, which is helping to carry things off of stage at different times throughout the production. (Two hours long) So it's kinda crazy, watching the kids and then leaving every once in a while to help with the stage. I enjoy the commotion though because it makes me feel like I have a purpose!

I have noticed, alot of the kids there are kinda rich and spoiled. That doesn't mean they are mean or anything like that, they are actually very nice people, but some of the girls my age look down at me just because I work on a farm and enjoy being outside all the time. *Sigh*

All together it is a great production, and I think I will start to really really enjoy it soon! How are you guys!! Anything new happening this week?!

The Horror and Awesomeness of Tech Week!

Recently I have been partying, eating food, and TRYING to make friends. It was my sisters birthday party Saturday and it was alot of fun!! But Yesterday I started something awesome that I hope I can do without getting upset..
I started Tech week for Anne of Green Gables! I am working backstage with a friend! The hard part is making friends... because all of these people know each other really well, and I just arrived. I found it pretty easy with the younger kids because I am good with little kids, but the girls my age are always in a group and I feel so disconnected from everyone. I really need to work on my people skills. I'm the kind of person that could act on stage in front of millions of people and be ok. But if I have to confront somebody on my own, without a script, I get shaky and awkward. I'm a pretty awesome person once I've talked to someone for 5 minutes, I just need the chance to actually get to that 5 minute mark. Does anyone else have this problem? Any advice?!
Other than that the first day of Tech week was pretty cool! I hung around my friend and the little kids mostly. They did feed us doughnuts, so that was pretty awesome! Today Tech starts at 6 pm and ends at 9:30 so I am trying to work up some confidence today! Hope you guys had a great weekend! I have been working on a lot of posts, there all in draft form and not finished yet.
Adios Amigos!

Computer Programming

Hey guys! So lately I have been learning programming on a website called Khan Academy! I use this website for school but they also have alot of other free courses! I actually think it's quite fun! For the programming course, they give you different thing to create! This lesson I had to make a plate of food! I'm learning alot and enjoying it a ton! You should definitely try it out!! If you mess with the numbers onn the left it changes the way the plate looks! Try it out!! (I have no idea why this text is yellow,..... sigh)

Spin-off of "Project: What's for Dinner?"

Made using: Khan Academy Computer Science.

I Wanna Be A Disney Princess!

So! Lately I've had the biggest obsession with Disney... Well, let me put that straight. I have ALWAYS been obsessed with Disney, but now I am obsessed with wanting to work there. SO this is how it goes..

RANDOM HUMAN BEING: So, Mae.. what do you want to be when you grow up?

Me: Ummmm, a Disney Princess....

AND THEN I GET LAUGHED AT! But that is besides the point.
I just really really really REALLY like Disney World!

Princess Garden, Festival of Fantasy Parade by, Jennifer Lynn (CC BY 2.0)

Not to mention, what Disney lover wouldn't want to BE a Disney Princess 4-5 days out of the week!
Also the gowns are so romantically long and frilly.

But then again it's got to be a hard job. You have to go out in the heat of Florida with a ton of makeup on in a hot dress and smile for hours. But every job has its cons right?

Besides, I would be acting all day, and being with kids, so those are two things I love so much combined! Also your family gets free part tickets sometimes.

But then again, I would have to live in Florida where there is no good farmland or anything like where I live now. And my family would live far away.

So there are so many great things about the job, but also some not-so-great-things. But wouldn't it be FUN!

I wonder what princess I look most like.

Singing - Every Rose has it's Thorn

Hello Everyone!
So I finally got around to recording a song, I do want to say that I was trying to stay quiet so I am sorry that the bridge of the song (though it's been a while now I can still feel so much pain.....) was a little pitchy. Other than that I am pretty happy with it! I am singing Every Rose Has It's Thorn by Poison! Hope you enjoy!

12 Need-To-Know Facts About Writing! (Guest Post)

Hey everyone! The very lovely writer Victoria has created a wonderful post for us! You can visit her wonderful blog HERE!

12 Need-To-Know Facts About Writing
By Victoria Grace Howell

Novels. Articles. Blog posts. Short stories. Poems. These are just a few of the many types of writing. Since you’re reading this post, the product of writing is already a small part of your life. But have you ever tried writing yourself? Are you a writer? Have you thought of writing and just never carved out the time or thought you weren't the type? Maybe you’re just wondering a bit about these strange writer folk you've heard about. Whatever walk with writing you’re on or not on, here are twelve things you need to know about writing as a whole.

1.) It Takes Commitment – If you want to grow in your skill as a writer, you have to commit yourself to the craft. That means setting time aside in your day to work on it. That means staying consistent when you post your work if you blog or write for a site. That means sticking to deadlines self-made or made by others. To become better at this craft like with school, sports, hobbies, or any other such thing, you have to make writing important in your life.

2.) It Takes Work – The words aren't always going to flow. The muse will flee. You’re going to have days when you really have to push yourself to get the words out or one’s that you’re so busy you barely have time to get a sentence down. It isn't always going to be fun, but if you want to complete that poem, that novel, that blog post, you have to make yourself go on.

3.) It Takes Study – Many people think that writing can be done anyway anyone wants and it’s acceptable. This isn't true. There are many rules and guidelines and such in writing like there are play rules in sports. These rules are to improve the craft and make it the best it can be. You can find out about these tips in many places from craft books to online seminars to blog posts to writers conferences. On my blog I offer a lot of tips about the craft. Blog posts are great, because they’re a free resource!

4.) It Takes Practice – You aren't going to instantly become an amazing writer in a day. You will have to write articles after article, novel after novel, poem after poem to improve. The more you write and study writing the better you’ll get.

5.) It Takes Courage – If you want to take your writing somewhere, you have to do scary things. You have to post your articles and blog posts on the web and people may or may not like them. You have to ask people for feedback and see what they think. You have to submit your novel, poem, article, ect. to editors and agents to be published and they may accept or reject you. It’s daunting, but this is the way of the craft.

6.) It Takes Endurance – Sometimes you’ll have to get up a bit earlier or stay up a bit later to get your word count in for the day. Sometimes you’ll receive rejections from editors and agents. Sometimes you’ll lose contests or someone will say something nasty about your work on your blog or Amazon. A writer must learn to endure these hardships and carry on despite the odds.

7.) It Takes Connections – Who you know matters. This is why going to writers conferences, mingling with other bloggers, and joining writing groups is so important. They can give you a leg up and you can help each other out. Because I knew an author at a conference, he put in a good word for me to a publishing house editor. Because I decided to talk to another author at a book signing, I found the amazing writing group Go Teen Writers. Because I decided to speak up to Mae, I’m guest posting on this lovely blog.

8.) It Takes Time – Despite all the work you put into this, time is always a factor. You must wait for readership to build up on your blog. You must wait to hear back from that editor or agent. It may not be your time to be published yet. This prerequisite patience can be maddening. Believe me, but if you keep on working hard, you will prevail.

9.) It’s Fun – All of that hard stuff aside, writing is an awesome thing. With it you create stories, worlds, people, anything you want from your imagination. Anything you can dream of you can write. It’s limitless creation.

10.) It’s Satisfying – When you finish something you’ve written it’s one of the most satisfying feelings in the world, especially when it’s something like a novel that you’re spent months or even years on. Even if you finish something short, you feel good about yourself. You pushed through and did it!

11.) It’s Therapeutic – Writing can help you when you’re going through a tough time. You can write poetry about a tough experience or give some of your hardships to a character and make them conquer the issues. You can get out secrets on the page you don’t want anyone else to know, but it’s out of you instead of festering inside.

12.) It Reaches People’s Hearts – Writing doesn’t have to help just you, but it can help others too. Your advice can help people grow in writing or cooking or sewing or another skill. Your novel dealing with depression could speak to someone with that illness and even save their life. I know an author that has received over a dozen emails saying his books saved people from taking their own lives. You don’t know who your stories will reach. Your story could be the thing someone needed to hear. It could inspire them.

Though writing is hard and sometimes frustrating, it’s the most fun and satisfying thing I've ever done. It’s why I've chosen it to be my career. I want to touch other people and give them hope. If you set your mind to it, you can too.

Any questions? Would you like to know anything more specific about writing?

Miracles - I guess. I wouldn't say I believe they're actually real, I just like to pretend they are!
Love at first sight - Yes!
Ghosts - No
Aliens - It's possible, but hard to imagine. 25/100% I guess
Soul mates - Yep
Heaven - Not really. I haven't made a decision on it yet.
Hell - No, same as heaven ^^^
Kissing on the first date - Well, I don't know about this. I don't think it could hurt, but only if you know right off he is the one?! Idk.
Yourself - I believe in myself 99.9999%. The other .1% is my singing skills. XD
